DOCUMENTING GLOBAL ART

Theories, Databases, and Experimental Researching Tools

In collaboration with the program Art et Mondialisation (Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art-Paris), gvc develops a collaborative research entitled Documenting Global Art: Theories, Databases, and Experimental Researching Tools, focused on the construction of databases and the promotion of experimental researching tools in the field of visual studies, contemporary art, and postcolonial studies. This platform aims to expand the debates originated at the symposium La mondialisation enrayée? Micro-politiques et pratiques locales de l’art (EHESS-CESTA/INHA, December 2009) organized by Patricia Falguières (Centre de sociologie du travail et des arts, EHESS), Zahia Rahmani (Programme Art et mondialisation, INHA) and Cédric Vincent (EHESS). reed more ›››

During its first three-year stage (2011-2013), this platform will orgnize two working meetings, an international symposium, as well as a series of publications.
