These talks are devoted to produce collective knowledge on issues such as transnational art institutions, global art discourses, world art history, postcolonial studies, and visual culture studies among others. Beyond the standardized structure of academic lectures, these open talks operate as two-way workshops: on the one hand, guest speakers are asked to contribute materials before the session so that participants have the opportunity to prepare the debate; on the other, participants are encouraged to share their own experiences during the sesison and to link the topics of the talk with the local landscape. As a collateral result, more often than not the debates facilitate the establishment of collaborative networks between guest speakers and local organizations.
